AYAKAMBO acknowledges the ancient keepers of the ancient lineages of desert traditions — the Bedouin nomads, the Zoroastrian priests, and the Sufi mystics across Persia, the Levant, and Central Asia — as the original custodians of the Harmal spirit, known as Esfand or Isfand in Persian, and identified by scholars as the likely source of the ancient Avestan Haoma as one of the oldest documented sacraments on earth. The wise men of the desert transmitted its intelligence across millennia. We pay our respects to their living and ancestral traditions.
